River Network’s Habitat Blog helps river advocates stay up-to-date on news, tools, and resources related to legal, policy and technical developments related to restoration and protection of river and wetland habitats. The blog is updated regularly by Merritt Frey, Habitat Program Director, and Gayle Killam, Habitat Program Deputy Director. We also welcome your comments and guest bloggers.

Our Partners are some of the smartest, wittiest and most interesting people we know...and we're not just saying that. Check out what some of them have to say via their blogs.
As you may be aware, the 2010 National River Rally is going to be right here in the Intermountain West – outside Salt Lake City, Utah from May 21-24. This is a great chance to bring together western advocates, public lands managers and others to discuss issues and learn together. We need your help to design a useful workshop about rivers on public lands in the West!
Many of the sessions at the full Rally will have a western bent to them – we'll have a panel with western water experts, sessions on abandoned mine reclamation and more. In addition, on Friday, May 21st we have scheduled a longer "intensive" workshop which will allow a smaller group of us to dive in on an issue or two in more detail.
The focus of this session will be on protecting and restoring water quality and riparian habitat on federal public lands rivers in the Intermountain West. I am asking for your help in making sure this session is useful for those most interested in attending.
Please take our 10 question survey about your interest in attending the "intensive" session, what topic or topics you'd most like to cover, and what type of format would be most useful for you.
Please provide your feedback by Monday, January 25 so we can start crafting the best possible workshop for you!
