WEFTEC 2010: The 83rd Annual Water Quality Event

Author: Travis Leipzig

Join the Water Environment Federation and thousands of water and wastewater officials in early October for the 83rd annual WEFTEC Water Quality Event. WEFTEC 2010 will offer water quality education and training, and display the latest in water quality developments, research, regulations, solutions, and cutting-edge technologies, including a number of workshops that deal with reducing the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions of supplying and managing water.

The WEFTEC 2010 conference and exhibition will be held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans from October 2-6. Here's what the WEF has to say about the event:

WEFTEC®, the Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference, is the biggest meeting of its kind in North America and offers thousands of water quality professionals from around the world the best water quality education and training available today. Also recognized as the world’s largest annual water quality exhibition, WEFTEC’s massive show floor provides unparalleled access to the field’s most cutting-edge technologies and services.

Among many other exciting tracks, the conference will offer presentation tracks covering Water Conservation & Management, Sustainability, and Residuals and Biosolids Management. These tracks all have workshops that deal with certain aspects of the water-energy nexus and are of interest for those of you looking at reducing energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions in the water/wastewater sector. Check out the WEFTEC program for more information on technical sessions, workshops and presenters.

This event seems pretty geared towards an audience of water and utility professionals, and offers utility partnership discounts, but do not hesitate to attend if you do not work for a utility yourself. Join the conference and gain useful information that you can pass along to your utilities, or encourage your local utilities to join in on the conference fun themselves!

Register for the event and make travel accommodations today.

Hat-tip to Jason Turgeon from U.S. EPA for notifying us about this event
