https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/598434731The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) continues its webinar series with a presentation with the Union of Concerned Scientist’s on The Energy and Water Collision – 10 Things You Should Know. Our webinars are your opportunity to directly engage with SACE staff and learn about emerging clean energy technologies, opportunities and issues that SACE engages in everyday. SACE is excited to use this technology as a way to connect with our members and share the most up-to-date advances in the clean energy field.
For the December webinar in SACE's monthly webinar series, the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) will share some arresting facts about the connections between our energy use and our water resources. Did you know that far more water is used at the power plant to generate electricity for our homes than we use in our homes directly? And that dozens of gallons of water are required to make a single gallon of corn ethanol? Hear about the surprising connections, dangerous risks, and potential solutions to the energy-water collision as UCS staff share early findings from their 3-year initiative “Energy and Water in a Warming World” (EW3). John Rogers and Erika Spanger-Siegfried, senior analysts with UCS and co-managers of EW3, will present along with SACE’s high risk energy choices program director, Sara Barczak. We invite you to join us on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 12 – 1 pm EST for a briefing and open discussion.
