America's long overdue for water, energy reform

This week I have found myself amazed by all the places the water-energy nexus keeps popping up. Since the Scientific American article on the issue was published it seems that a far greater number of people are beginning to pay attention to the connection between water and energy.

For those of you in the West Virginia area, check out their upcoming Water-Energy Nexus Conference taking place next week, November 17-19. I know its short notice (I just heard about it today!), but it looks like it will be an interesting meeting.

The Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper recently published an editorial calling for reform of our water and energy policies. Titled America's Long Overdue for Water, Energy Reform, the article argues that with a newly elected president and congress (note: it was written before the election) we need to take advantage of the opportunity to pass a multi-faceted approach to water and energy that is far more sustainable than today’s archaic paradigm.
