The Partnership for Water Conservation together with Built Green will be hosting a workshop and vendor fair on the water-energy nexus November 10 near Seattle, WA. River Network will once again be collaborating with the Pacific Institute to educate local citizens on the benefits of saving energy through water conservation and efficiency.
Here's a brief description of the event, which is officially called Saving Energy Through Water Conservation:
Recent studies have directly linked water conservation to energy savings. In fact, water-related energy use is equivalent to at least 13% of U.S. electricity consumption. Understanding the relationships between water and energy will help encourage water conservation, better protect our rivers and streams, reduce carbon footprints and build a more sustainable environment for the future.
The Partnership for Water Conservation and Built Green are pleased to bring Heather Cooley (Pacific Institute) and Bevan Griffiths-Sattenspiel (River Network) to the Puget Sound area. Both are leaders in researching this important topic. The workshop will also feature local speakers with information on regional studies and government incentives to increase both water and energy conservation.
