This document summarizes the findings from the first piece of the Clean Water West Project campaign plan -- a needs survey. The survey was conducted in September 2008 via an online survey. In addition, a small group of river leaders were interviewed as followup, and their observations on the survey findings were incorporated into this report.
On the whole responses endorsed our straw man proposal for “core pieces” of the Project. The regional policy analysis, in-depth partnerships, and regional forums were embraced. However, the results were not simply a wholesale endorsement—the results provided a much more detailed look at how we need to design the core pieces and added a few truly new pieces to consider.
We found the strong, positive response to the Clean Water West Needs Survey heartening for the Project. In addition, we learned a lot about the challenges we’ll face with implementing the Project. For more detail, explore the report below.
