Cara is River Network’s Partnership Program Assistant. She migrated to Portland, Oregon from Kentucky and is passionate about working with people to find valuable solutions.

Kentucky is actually a Commonwealth. Unfortunately, the great wealth there is not treated as common property and is instead often dynamited and degraded. While residing in her home state, Cara worked with several environmental justice groups to try to eliminate mountaintop removal coal mining and its impacts on the creeks where she grew up catching crawdads, swimming, and eventually starting a successful but illegal solar-powered moonshine micro-industry. Just kidding. While doing this work in her free time, she honed her web communication and project coordination skills professionally. Cara enjoys combining her skills and her passion in her work with the River Network, and like the typical Portlander spends her free time riding bikes, playing Ultimate and growing veggies.
