JR was raised on the banks of the Willamette River outside the small town of Oakridge Oregon where, despite the fact that the local town was supported by two lumber mills, the concepts of conservation, recycling, protecting the environment and being good stewards of the earth were instilled in her at a very early age. She earned a BS in Physical Education from the University of Oregon and a BA in Business Administration from Washington State University. She comes to River Network with 16 years of experience as an accountant in the for-profit world and is relishing in the fact that she finally gets to use her professional skills in the non-profit environmental arena. Never one to do things half way, JR is also the Financial Manager for Oregon Environmental Council. In her spare time she likes to run in the mornings before work, garden, work in her yard, camp, fish, bird watch and go for long walks on the beach. She is also a huge Oregon Duck fan and enjoys going to their football games whenever she is able to beg, borrow or steal a ticket.
