Prior to serving as River Network's Education Manager, Katherine was River Network's Partnership Program Director. After coming to terms with the fact that some who wander are indeed lost, Katherine ended her nomadic lifestyle by joining River Network in 1995. As the Education Manager, she works to ensure the National River Rally is filled with education, inspiration - and perhaps most importantly - celebration. Additionally, Katherine helped to create and grow the National River Heroes award, edits River Voices and the River Fundraising Alert, and coordinates all River Network trainings and publications. She holds a Masters of Environmental Studies from Western Washington University and a Bachelors degree from the University of Oregon.
When not planning national events or working on educational materials, she seeks to fulfill her role as the self-titled National River Conservation Burn-out Prevention Poster Child: guiding multi-day rafting trips on southern Oregon's Rogue River and boating, fishing and dutch-oven cooking on as many other rivers as possible.
