For the past 2 1/2 years, Waverly de Bruijn has served as River Network's Partnership Program Manager, where she managed and provided services to River Network's Partner organizations. Recently, Waverly and her husband decided to pursue an opportunity to live and work abroad in South Korea, and relocated to the city of Daegu in late August. She will continue to work remotely on specific River Network projects as she transitions out of her role as Partnership Program Manager. Prior to joining River Network, Waverly was the International Coordinator of Global Action to Prevent War and Armed Conflict, a New York-based NGO working closely with the United Nations’ conflict prevention and resolution bodies. Serving as co-chair of the Student Environmental Action Coalition (Syracuse), Waverly was a leader in the campaign that prompted Syracuse University to purchase 20% of its total energy from renewable sources. She graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in Sociology, writing her honors thesis on recruitment and retention in progressive student organizations.
