Center for Water Advocacy

The Center for Water Advocacy, as a non-profit public interest law firm which strives to promote the long-term sustainability of water resources in the western United States for the benefit of fish and wildlife populations, habitat, aesthetics, recreation, and traditional and cultural activities, using the principles of democracy, environmental justice and sound ecology as our guide.

In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution officially recognizing that access to sanitary and adequate water is a fundamental human right. In furtherance of this theme, this year’s conference will address a variety of issues including treaty rights, water toxic regulation, managing the Columbia River, takings and water law, federal trust responsibility, public lands issues and science and the law of the river.
