The Alliance for Water Efficiency seeks a qualified individual to serve in the position of program assistant. The chosen individual will be an integral part of our Chicago office.  The ideal candidate must be very organized and detail oriented.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Work on water efficiency programs and projects.  Develop expertise in key areas such as green building and water‐energy.  Assist team members and third‐party contractors or consultants on special project deliverables. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Research topics needing AWE technical support and develop appropriate water efficiency materials
• Provide technical assistance to AWE membership
• Assist staff members on special projects as needed
• Develop specific expertise on water efficiency in green building
• Manage special projects as assigned
• Develop new special project ideas for grant proposals
• As warranted, attend conferences and present on project outcomes and deliverables  
• Coordinate and manage consultant contracts as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:  
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited four‐year college or university is required.

Experience Requirements:  
• Water efficiency experience in projects or programs
• Strong character, ethics, and a high standard of performance
• Detailed oriented and flexible with strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work well with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
• Proven ability to maintain highly confidential information
• Proficiency with PC operating system and office support software, including MS Office  
• Ability to work occasional overtime
• Cheerful presence and people skills

Salary:  
Commensurate with experience and qualifications
