The Alliance for Water Efficiency seeks a qualified individual to serve in the position of project coordinator. The chosen individual will be an integral part of our Chicago office. The ideal candidate must be very organized and detail oriented.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate a range of activities surrounding the management of water efficiency projects. Search, preparation and submission of grant proposals, and manage the projects received under those grants. Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Coordinate the efforts of team members and third‐party contractors or consultants in order to timely complete all project deliverables. Seek out foundations with the potential to support the mission of the Alliance for Water Efficiency. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
• Work on project deliverables
• Manage the grant application process, including program design and development, grant writing, evaluation plan
development, budget creation and reporting
• Identify new grant opportunities and maintaining a calendar of deadlines
• As warranted, attend conferences and present on project outcomes and deliverables
• Meet with and maintain relationships with foundation grantors, prospects and key personnel
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
• Coordinate and manage consultant contracts
• Perform other duties as assigned
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited four‐year college or university is required.
Experience Requirements:
• Experience working as a project coordinator administering project flow and completion
• Experience working with grants and/or contracts, including public and private grant writing and contract administration
• Strong character, ethics, and a high standard of performance
• Detailed‐oriented and flexible with strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work well with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
• Proven ability to maintain highly confidential information
• Proficiency with PC operating system and office support software, including MS Office
• Ability to work occasional overtime
• Cheerful presence and people skills
