River Network Awarded 2012 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility

For the second year in a row, River Network has been selected as an Oregon recipient of the 2012 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility!

As a recipient of this prestigious award, River Network has distinguished itself as a leader in the movement for more forward-thinking, family-friendly workplaces. Our organization ranks in the top 20% of employers nationally in terms of the programs, policies and culture that create an effective and flexible workplace. In addition, what makes this honor so special is that our employees have affirmed that in their day-to-day experience, our workplace is indeed as flexible and effective a place to work as it looks on paper.

As a Sloan Award recipient, River Network will also:

  • be highlighted in the upcoming Guide to Bold New Ideas for Making Work Work, a national publication that compiles innovations and promising practices from all 2012 Sloan Award recipients.

  • become part of a national flexibility leadership network representing employers of all sizes and from all sectors to share best practices, exchange ideas and serve as models for other employers, the media, community leaders and others.

Since 2005, the Sloan Awards have been recognizing model employers of all types and sizes across the U.S. for their innovative and effective workplace practices. The Sloan Awards are part of When Work Works, a research-based initiative to highlight how effective and flexible workplaces can yield positive business results and help employees succeed at work and at home.

Family Forward Oregon's Family Forward Education Fund facilitates the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility in Oregon. Family Forward Oregon envisions a day when flexible, family-friendly workplaces are the norm, and River Network is honored that they have recognized us for our leadership in Oregon toward this goal.
