Todd Ambs Selected as River Network's fifth President

Todd Ambs has been selected by the board of directors to become River Network's fifth President.

For more than 30 years, Todd has worked in the environmental policy field. His extensive experience in both state government and nonprofit organizations includes serving as Executive Director of two statewide river organizations, Policy Director for the Ohio Attorney General and Senior Policy Analyst for the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

From 2003 until becoming President of River Network in May, 2010, Todd ran the Water Division for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. He has served on a number of water-related boards and commissions and was the lead negotiator for the State of Wisconsin during the development of the Great Lakes Compact. Todd still serves on the Great Lakes Commission, Great Lakes Protection Fund and the Upper Mississippi River Basin Association. In 2003, Todd was recipient of the National River Hero award.

“Over the past two decades, I have seen firsthand how important River Network is to our growing movement of river and watershed advocates,” said Todd. “I look forward to doing all I can to work with our tremendous staff and Board -- and with thousands of groups around the country -- to build on this solid foundation of support for our collective river network.”
