River Heroes Banquet and Awards Ceremony

Banquet? Will I need my ball gown?

We work hard all year and now it is time to party! As a River Rally participant, you are on the guest list for a rousing and celebratory evening as we gather together to honor our accomplishments and the River Heroes who made them possible. Additionally, the James R. Compton River Achievement Award will be presented to one individual whose life-long passion and dedication to river conservation is an inspiration to us all. Recommended dress is "river formal" - anything goes, from sarongs and river sandals to gowns and ties. The evening will begin with a no-host bar.

The Banquet is a sit-down dinner and awards ceremony. The five selected River Heroes are peer-nominated and are representative of under-celebrated, river-loving people whose passion, dedication and ability to give short speeches are worthy of recognition.

River Hero Nominations must be postmarked by February 9, 2007.


And then...after the Banquet?

We're pretty darn excited about this. We've arranged for a drummer from Cedar Mountain Drums to lead all interested Banquet attendees in a participatory and high-energy drum circle. If you have your own drum - or percussion instrument - please do bring it to the Banquet. You'll be glad you did.
