When you start on-line registration you will need to know the following:
When will you arrive and depart?
We recommend that participants (except those attending Tribal Day) plan to travel on Friday, May 18 arriving in time for the informal Opening Reception starting at 6:00 p.m. Tribal Day participants are encouraged to arrive in Portland by mid-day on Thursday, May 17. The Heroes Banquet festivities always go late on Monday night, May 21, so we recommend that you plan to leave first thing Tuesday, May 22.
You can check at River Network Partners to see if your organization or tribal entity is a Partner. Otherwise the first person registering for Rally from your group will be charged an additional $100. Because River Rally receives U.S. EPA grant money, U.S. federal agency staff do not qualify for the subsidized Partner rate and should check with our registration coordinator for the applicable registration rate.
You can a get special reduced rate if you qualify.
A per-person Group Rate of $675 applies for partner groups sending three or more people for all four nights. We cannot apply the Group Rate for individuals staying less than four nights.
A special per-person King-mate Rate of $675 will apply for any two Rally participants willing to room together and share a King bed. We aren't match-makers, so to qualify for the King-mate Rate each participant must register separately and request each other as roommates.
Please indicate if you expect a spouse, family member or guest to stay with you at Rally. Register at the Family Rates and they can attend meals with Rally goers as well. Children under 12 are free. You can sign up for extra field trips for your guest as part of your registration.
The registration rate matrix can be viewed here.
The general Partner registration rate of $750 for River Network Partners includes the following: four nights double-occupancy lodgings at either Skamania Lodge or Bonneville Hot Springs Resort (Friday through Monday nights), the Friday evening Opening Reception at Skamania Lodge, and all meals through Monday evening except Sunday Dinner.
Day-only registration rates are available for local attendees not requiring lodgings. Day-only registration is $275 for all three days (Saturday morning through the Heroes Banquet on Monday) and covers workshops and meals. Deluxe rooms and single occupancy rooms cost more. See our Rate Sheet for full options.
The 2007 National River Rally will be held at Skamania Lodge near Stevenson, Washington. To accommodate a successful Rally, we also plan to house attendees at the Bonneville Hot Springs Resort. This is a lovely new facility several miles from Skamania right near Bonneville Dam. The Bonneville facility has a large spa facility and a limited number of Deluxe Rooms with private hot tubs. Both facilities have single-King Rooms and double-Queen rooms. When you register please indicate if you have a preference for one facility over the other and we will attempt to place you in your preferred facility based on registration-date priority.
All approved presenters must register so we have a name tag and meals for you. If you are an approved presenter staying for just one night you will not be charged. If you are a "full comp" presenter you do not have to pay anything except for field trip fees or guest accommodations. Please fill out the web registration form as fully as you can. If you have a zero balance you will need to choose "I will pay by check" to confirm. This will generate a zero balance receipt.
The web registration form does not anticipate some special financial arrangements made by track leaders. If you have arranged to pay less than the approved presenter rate or if you are a full comp presenter attending for two or three nights, please pull down the "4 nights" option and the "full comp" option in the available rates box. This will calculate a zero balance. Then, choose "I will pay by check" to complete the registration process. Please then send us the amount agreed upon by you and your track leader.
For Tribal Day ParticipantsPartner rates apply to all tribally-affiliated Rally attendees. We will add the appropriate partner dues to the registration of your first tribal representative.
Tribal participants are eligible to apply for additional scholarship funds but you must check off "I am applying for a scholarship" and request a specific amount when you register. All scholarship applicants only need to send $100 (by check or credit card) when they apply. This is refundable if you do not get enough scholarship funds to attend.
You can register for Tribal Day ONLY (if you are not staying for any part of Rally after Friday afternoon). However, to do so you have to skip the "Registration Rate Calculations" section of the webform. DO NOT choose anything under Registration Rate Calculations (questions #1 through #4). Instead, page down to "Pre-Rally Events Optional" and make a selection. You can pay the amount owing or apply for a scholarship. If you apply for a scholarhip the webform will automatically ask you to send $100. Please just select "I will send a check" and wait for us to contact you.
