A breakout group is the result of dividing a large gathering of people into smaller groups. Break out groups often act like inpromptu committees by discussing a particular issue and reporting their conclusions and findings back to the larger group. Breakout groups are a great strategy when your gathering has a lot of material to cover and limited time. This resource will show you the basics of when to use breakout groups and how to facilitate this process.
