Take Action: 319 Grants

Section 319 grants are used in different ways in different states.  By figuring out how the grant funds are spent in your state, you can help make sure the funds are used effectively. 

  1. Find out your state's process for applying for and giving out 319 grants.
  2. Get on a mailing list about the grant process.
  3. Ask where your state's 319 money is used. States are allowed to use up to 20% or $250,000, whichever is less,on their program.
  4. Contact your state agency to learn about Section 319 projects in your area. Let your local watershed organization know about this money source. Find out how you can get involved.
