Section 319( h)( 11) of the CWA requires states to report annually on progress in meeting nonpoint source management program milestones, and report available information on reductions in nonpoint source pollution and on improvements in water quality resulting from program implementation. States also prepare semi- annual reports. At the end of 2000 and periodically thereafter, the EPA and the U. S. Department of Agriculture, in consultation with other Federal and State agencies, will submit a Watershed Restoration Progress Report to the President, the nation's governors, tribal leaders, and the public, evaluating progress in implementing restoration actions and recommending any actions needed to improve progress toward meeting clean water goals.
