River Rally 2008 Workshops FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about presenting workshops at Rally 2008

Q: Can more than one presenter lead a workshop?
A: Yes, more than one presenter is welcome to lead, but please note that the $300 presenter scholarship/honorarium is on a per-workshop basis. As such, your co-presenter must forego the discount, or you must divide it between you (a thumb-wrestling match is an appropriate manner in which to decide the allocation between multiple presenters).

Q: If I am selected to lead more than one workshop, will I receive an additional scholarship?
A: Yes. We are able to award $300 per workshop. If you lead 2 workshops, you will receive $600.

Q: Can presenters apply for additional scholarship funds?
A: No. River Network has limited funding for scholarships and well, if we gave it all to the presenters, you'd have no one to present to. Lest you complain, the scholarship awarded to presenters represents the historic average-scholarship awarded to River Rally participants.

Q: Can I submit a proposal for more than one workshop?
A: Yes, more than one proposal can be submitted, but please submit a separate proposal for each workshop.

Q: I have funding to attend the River Rally. Can I forego my $300 scholarship?
A: Indeed. If you have funding to cover your expenses, we gladly will award your allotted amount to another needy participant. Simply indicate this option when prompted in the proposal form.

Q: When will I be notified if I have been selected as a presenter?
A: Assuming there are no unforeseen incidents, all applicants will be notified of our decisions by Dec. 31st.

Q: I don't plan to attend the River Rally beyond my presentation. Am I still eligible for the $300 scholarship?
A: Yes. If this is the case, please work directly with Katherine Luscher.

Q: I still have questions about submitting a proposal, who can I contact?
A: If you have questions not answered in the provided information, please contact Katherine Luscher at: 503.542.8384
