Recycling Can! Volunteer Event Details: Phoenix, AZ



Volunteer to restore crucial wildlife habitat by removing litter and recyclables from the confluence of the Salt and Gila Rivers with the Ball Corporation, ASU, Arizona Game & Fish Department, River Network, and other community partners.

Date: Saturday, February 22

Time: 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Location: Base & Meridian Wildlife Area, 6800 S. Avondale Blvd. Tolleson, AZ 85353    PLEASE NOTE: You will need to walk 0.7 miles to the worksite.

Activity: Collecting litter and sorting recyclable material

What to bring: Closed-toed shoes, clothes that can get dirty, a reusable water bottle, sun protection, work gloves (gloves will be available if you need them)

Age restriction: This event is open children age eight or older. Minors must be supervised at all times.

Local Partners: Arizona State University, Urban Waters Learning Network, Arizona Game & Fish Department

Notes: No pets please. When you arrive, following signs to the parking area. All volunteers will be shuttled to the worksite. Some volunteers will be asked to walk an additional .7 miles from the shuttle drop off area to the far end of the worksite.
