River Network offers a limited number of scholarships for those who need financial assistance to attend River Rally. On average, the scholarship awards are $250 and are applied to help reduce registration fees, though we will do our best to ensure that every interested individual can join us in Alabama. Scholarship applicants must be a staff, board member, or volunteer of a current dues-paying River Network member organization or agency or hold student or professional membership status. Generally, scholarships may not be used to cover field trips, transportation, lodging, extra meals or any other expenses.
Please note, the application deadline has passed, and we are no longer accepting applications. If you have applied for a scholarship, please do not register for River Rally until your request has been processed by our staff and you receive correspondence from us confirming or denying your request.
Criteria for Scholarship Award Eligibility:
- You must be a current member of River Network. To qualify, you must have one of these types of memberships – (a) organizations and agencies or (b) professionals and students – that is valid through May 23, 2016. If you are not a member and would like to join and become eligible for a scholarship, you can join or renew here.
- You – or someone from your organization – must complete River Network’s Organizational Status Report before applying. This online survey helps us gather essential information about our member organizations so we can better understand the watershed community, our collective impact and individual organizations’ needs. Applies to organizations only; not applicable to professional, student, or corporate membership.
- Request a scholarship via our online application form by the February 19, 2016 deadline and pay the non-refundable $20 registration deposit. This money will be applied to your registration.
- If you are awarded a scholarship, you must register for River Rally by March 31, 2016.
