April Colorado SMP Peer Call
SMP Peer Call: Lessons from Community Planning (Invitation Only)
Join us on Thursday, April 15th from 10:00 - 11:30am for a peer call to learn more about best practices for community planning from the Yampa and Big Thompson SMPs.
Most SMPs involve local community members throughout the various phases of the planning process. What the involvement from community members looks like varies from SMP to SMP. During this peer call we’ll learn about the approaches that the Yampa and Big Thompson teams took to engage their community. In particular we’ll discuss the use of data visualization software like Tableau and Maptionaire to gather and display their input. You’ll learn from your peers their methods to involve local community members, how they reported findings back out to the community, and the lessons they learned.
- Nicole Seltzer, with River Network, and Will Davis, with the Big Thompson Watershed Coalition, will be talking about their approaches to successfully engaging community members in their SMPs.
- We'll also share our 2021 schedule for peer calls, field trips, and workshops.
- We'll provide an update on the Colorado Water Plan updates and how you can be involved.
Register in advance using the form below, and we will send you a meeting invitation with the Zoom link. You can register up until 5pm on Wednesday, April 14th.
