As the Mid-Atlantic Leadership Development Manager, Caroline brings over a decade of nonprofit and government experience to the River Network team. She is a seasoned administrator and fundraising professional who has worked in the environmental, educational, health, and economic development sectors helping organizations achieve their missions.
Having served as Executive Director of a river preservation organization in the Highlands of Virginia, Caroline understands many of the opportunities and challenges facing watershed conservation groups in the region. Skilled in organizational capacity building, fundraising, event planning, project coordination, volunteer management, communications, and board relations, she is eager to use her skills and experience to increase the effectiveness of river and watershed groups and community-based organizations and to support River Network’s mission to empower and unite people and communities to protect and restore rivers and other waters that sustain all life.
Caroline has a liberal arts undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon College and a Master of Public Administration degree, with a focus on Non-Profit Management, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. A self-proclaimed mountain girl at heart, Caroline lives on the bayside of the Eastern Shore of Virginia with her husband, two sons, and Chesapeake Bay retriever. In her free time, she enjoys boating on the Chesapeake Bay and tributaries, cooking for and entertaining friends, and any outdoor activity with her family, but especially hiking and snow skiing.
