Joe Cook

Joe Cook (GA), An award-winning nature photographer and author, Joe’s slide presentations about the Etowah River, Chattahoochee River and Appalachian Trail have been enjoyed by more than 10,000 children and adults. Over the past fifteen years, Joe has logged more than 3,500 wilderness miles on foot and canoe. In 1999, Joe became a board member of the Coosa River Basin Initiative. He began full time work as Executive Director and Riverkeeper in 2005. That same year, Joe helped create the annual Paddle Georgia, a seven-day, 120 mile river trip enjoyed by hundreds of participants that explores a different river in Georgia each year, as well as CRBI’s annual Environment Fair and Quiz Bowl. Joe’s dedication and enthusiasm has led to tremendous growth for CBRI, and vastly increased watershed protection efforts in Georgia.
