River Network envisions a future of clean and ample water for people and nature, where local caretakers are well-equipped, effective, and courageous champions for our rivers.
The passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) has been celebrated by advocates for its historic investment in water infrastructure. Most of this investment flows through the State Revolving Loan Fund Program (SRFs), the largest source of federal funding for water infrastructure. But how do you access these funds and ensure they’re implemented equitably? We have information available to ensure water protectors across our network are able to meet this historic moment.
You can now find environmental justice policies and regulations and policies that supplement Clean Water Act (CWA) coverage and protection in the State Policy Hub, along with deep dives highlighting policy language and providing context for how organizations across the network strategize and advocate for policy change and ensure implementation is a success. The database itself is also more user-friendly and searchable now!
River Network’s searchable water protectors map helps communities and local water supporters connect. Search it, link to it, share it, and embed it on any website! (If your water organization is not already on the map, sign up for a free River Network membership to be included.)
