Mitigating Displacement: Building Community Resilience and Recovery That Doesn’t Leave Communities Behind
25
Event Info
Disasters are already devastating to frontline and historically disinvested communities, but it’s the disaster response and recovery process, and sometimes the investments to make communities “greener” and more resilient in the first place, that can further perpetuate harm to residents by contributing to displacement pressures. In this session, we focus on a range of complementary solutions that build community power through education, support residents in their efforts to foster a community vision of the desired future for their neighborhoods and improve residents’ accessibility to housing. This session is hosted by the Urban Waters Learning Network, an initiative co-led by River Network and Groundwork USA. This will be a 60-minute session. Register TODAY!
